Alberta’s students deserve better.
Tell the government to properly fund education support workers!
From demonstrating learning activities to implementing behaviour plans, education workers are always there to help students access their full potential. They make it possible for every child to attend school.
On any given day, an education worker may:
- Assist with personal and physical care
- Supervise recess, lunch, and field trips
- Facilitate positive social interactions
- Accommodate learning needs
- Report on progress
- And so much more …
Unfortunately, our government refuses to pay them what they’re worth, expecting them to work for poverty wages.
DID YOU KNOW: The average wage of an education worker is $26,388.00?
Chronic underfunding is undermining our school system, resulting in frequent staff burnout and 150+ unfilled positions on any given day. Our students deserve to go to school with the support they need. It’s their right to quality education.
Tell Alberta’s government: Fund education support workers.
